Marketing Marriage
At La Visual, we believe selling product is only a first step. Engaging the consumer in a long-term relationship is key in sustainable
profits, not just one-time sales that burn your budget. Marketing that supports the goal
of the Marketing Marriage is the marketing you want to grow
your business.

Hint.
We suggest starting at #1.
The Courtship
The Courtship is the giddy approach with attractive
marketing collateral at multiple touch points, whether it is a new product or a repackaging of an
existing service. The goal is engage the potential customer on many levels communicating the
Unique Selling Proposition your product or service offers.
Newsletters, emails, trade shows, gifts, product or service trials – you go all out to win them here. Make it look good yet be true to your company’s identity and values.
“Here you win over the skeptics.”
The Engagement
The Engagement happens when the potential customer accepts your Unique Selling Proposition and proceeds to purchase your product or service with open
arms. They are willing to engage you in a first-purchase or trial decision. Your customer likes what they see – now you have to prove your claims
and deliver value. The marketing at this stage is communicating the value delivery and building trust with your new customer.
“Here you create customers.”
The Marriage
The Wedding is the when you start to have the true conversation with your customer. Marketing collateral is sexy; the marketing conversation
isn’t always sexy. But if you want true feedback, positive and negative from your customers, the time is now. This is where you and your
customer come together and the magic happens. The marketing tools at this stage enable you to discover more about your customer, to find out
how they use your product. If you do this right, you marry the business side with the relationship. You mix business with the customers who make your business.
“Here you create loyalists.”
The Dynamic
The Dynamic is when you realize the insight your customer has communicated to you in The Wedding. There may have to be product or service changes.
Your unique selling proposition might be modified. And now you improve your offering to strengthen the relationship, and encourage an upgrade
or new purchase or subscription renewal. The marketing at this level has come back around to product improvement and then communicating that
you value your customer to the level that their feedback has impacted the continuous improvement of your business offerings.
“Here you create evangelists, if you haven’t already!”
The Anniversary
Now you repeat. It isn’t a perfect circle because each time you engage, learn, and change - the product/service, and the relationship moves
forward proportional to the synergy you develop with your customer base. Now you return to The Courtship, make the strategy, and meet your
customer at a new place to win them all over again.
“Here you kick back and enjoy your coffee!”
