LA Gear Legacy
With sales skyrocketing to $224 million in 1989, LA Gear was the third largest shoe brand alongside Nike and Reebok. Overtime, LA Gear slowly slipped into the memory of fashion runways and childhood playgrounds nationwide. But for those of us who were graced at growing up in the 80's and 90's, LA Gear remains an iconic brand that will continue to hold a nostalgic place in the hearts and minds of Los Angeles' trend setting community. ACI, Int. is committed to reigniting the legacy of LA gear and has reentered the market with an extensive collection of new innovative styles and retro classics.
Reigniting An Iconic Brand
After a strong soft launch in early 2009, the buzz began. Shortly after the launch, the newly designed tech lights line started to spread within the hip-hop community. T-pain and his entire dance crew sported the tech light classics during his world tour in late 2010. And after an exclusive debut during the 2010 Oscar and Grammy awards, Jamie Foxx, Sean Kingston, Justin Beiber, Kim Caldwell, and Lady Antebellum, were seen sporting the retro classics.
La Visual Tasked With Official Rebrand
ACI, Int. commissioned La Visual in late 2010 tasking the award-winning agency to rebrand the LA Gear originals line and help LA Gear to develop a new eCommerce store. Months after the launch, sales grew exponentially due to the simple user interface and decreased amount of clicks to check out. Prior to being released in retailers nationwide, fans of the brand will be given exclusive access to purchase retro classics, and new styles on lagear.com.
Results
Shortly after launching earlier this year, the new user interface helped garner exponential increases in online sales. The brand has yet to do an official roll-out so our survey metrics indicate high usability and CTR's to check out are based on the new interface design and seamless drag-n-drop shopping experience!
"The team at La Visual was personally inspired and engaged with LA Gear from the start. Their strategic approach to planning a truly exceptional user experience was refreshing. They really know what it takes to create a great eCommerce site poised to engage customers and drives sales."
